Dunno, seems kinda nebulous marketing speak but maybe?
How would anyone feel if they updated with a bigger body, but added sealing, a better battery, and maybe optical stabilization? I was gonna lead with 7c sized & IBIS with Z-type battery, but I think the rear element of the sonnar is too close for any kind of sensor based stabilization. So 7c sized might be pointless.
Personally, while I would prefer Zeiss release a trimmed down version of the 40 CF & pair that with the 7c—an updated rx1r would be a close second in the category of the portable, AF capable, mid-speed standard 35mm format camera. If it does update and doesn't have stabilization or sealing... . Seems like it would be a missed opportunity.

These are in Ladakh's share of the Indus Valley. Had the Ladakhi army succeeded in its alliance with Bhutan in the 17th century, Tibet would be a very different and much better country today. Few know Ladakh controlled much of West Tibet through a lot of the late medieval period. The power hungry fifth Dalai Lama used the Mongols to try to overpower Bhutan - in five wars. They failed in all of them.
I like the composition on that first photo Philip--excellent.
And I spent some time in Ledakh about 10 years ago, always meaning to get back. It was so capacious and quiet and staggeringly beautiful. And the people were warm and kind.

I don't really want the body to get any bigger, but if they extended out a small grip on the front it could make room for the much needed new Z battery. I wouldn't mind this as the body needs some sort of grip anyway. Be brave Sony and scrap the video features altogether which would reduce thermals and potentially internal space. Just focus on photography. Get rid of that gimmicky variable low pass filter feature. Also scrap the Zeiss badge to keep the price from rising. Add the newer AF system and a touch to focus screen and new menu system. But for the love of god don't make the screen a flip out screen which is only really useful for video and a PITA for photography.
Please note Sony: If I want decent video I'll get an A7Siii, GH5 or use my smartphone. Not every product has to be a jack of all trades. Be a master or one.

@jamesclark1991 no Zeiss badge no 35 sonnar though. As they make what are arguably the best mid speed 35's on the market atm (lenses permanently attached to the rx1 and zx1 lines) I think that would be a loss.
Also, might be wrong here but if you wanted a Z type battery you'd need SOME increase in height at least.
