The RX1 OG--still just love love love the images.
Agreed. It's the best camera I've ever purchased and the one with the most use. Even today, the images that come out of it blow me away. Nice shots, I especially love the first one.

Yes, I agree. I've owned something like 9 or 10 RX1x cameras since it's release. I only remember ever getting "attached" to 3 cameras ever and the RX1 is absolutely one of them. Lenses I do end up loving. I have given up on even thinking the RX1 will be replaced. I'll just own an RX1 or RX1R2 for the foreseeable future. Even though the Sigma 35/1.2, GM 35 and new Sigma 35/2 have really bumped up the 35mm realm, they are just different concepts (and so much larger) than the RX1 as a package.

Went back and edited some street shots from pre-COVID days. Love this camera.
It's starting to have some problems and I'm considering whether I should buy a used Mk2. I don't want the extra resolution, and I think I'd prefer the external (tiltable) EVF in the 1, but I'm interested in the faster focusing. All of the shots below are shot from the hip, and better focusing would be nice.
What do you think? Worth going for just for the focusing, or are there other benefits I'm missing as well? I LOVE the output (lens + sensor) from my 1, and am afraid that the 2 will not be as good in that regard, or at least will be different in some way.

A Sunday morning rant and shout out.
shanereighard (posts here sometimes )photos where the epitome of what I was looking for in a camera, image quality, small form factor to take anywhere and have on you all times but still roll with the big boys. Those pictures of family, friends, those spontaneous moments that don't mean much at the time, but become priceless after a couple of decades was primarily what I was chasing.
It was hard to cough up the that much cash a few years back, then I started reading Nehemiah, philip_pj and others analytical breakdown of the lens and its virtues, the intimate landscapes, dog shots by Nehemiah, the documentary style of philip_pj, the street shots of realVivek, confirming a purchase of a second hand rii. Not that many come up in Australia!!!!
November last year one popped up for sale in W.A and I grabbed it. It's everything I wanted but to early to tell if it's the "one" and it does have some issues, for me anyway.
I don't know if its just me but for the life of me I cant tell if I have a sharp photo when reviewing it on the LCD or the EVF, I zoom in and it looks blurry but when I put it on the computer its sharp I'm trying not to review with zoom and just hope their sharp.
Having 50/50 luck with the zone focus trick, I think it's my technique but will persevere and see how it goes. The shots below I think where zone focus, ones up the top of this page "eye focus". Running with auto ISO has stunned me, finding nothing really objectional up to 3600 iso before resorting to Topaz, 4000 seems to be my ceiling. Still trying to work out how some on here have amazing low light shots The rendering is very very nice but still looking to extract that sonnar 3d magic!!!
So far really loving this camera, the liberating experience of carrying such a small camera with amazing quality. It's interesting that people don't react the same way when I pull out the rx1 compared to my 7riii, maybe less intimidated by something that's not much different from a phone size??
I'd like to shout out to those people on this forum that educate and put in the time to analyses a lens, camera. It really does help with making informed decisions and opening my eyes to the wonders of what a lens can do. You may not receive much feedback? but thankyou for what you do, its very appreciated.

These are great, Paul. People do relax more, the camera instills intimacy and the leaf shutter ensures you get follow up shots. You might try the EVF with tilt for close stealth shots, you can look like you are inspecting the camera's top panel. I've done this with guards sweating on me in some interiors.
'sharp photo when reviewing it on the LCD or the EVF'
It's a matter of trust, mostly, that the camera gives you a good result back at the home monitor. It does! The early EVF is good for composing and that's about it. But a nice eyepiece shroud, on the early one anyway. And all up, it's lighter than their new a7c - body only.
