Thanks I converted raws with LR5.3 and the full size jpegs are now on flickr. I updated the original post so you should be able to follow those shots to flickr to see them full size. They're all WO. The lens is definitely not a rock start WO on the A7R but sharpens tremendously just one stop down. WO however the rendering is beautiful to my eye and with a little PP it got plenty of pop and detail. I'm sure the newer ZE/ZF would do better WO but, as much as I loved that lens, it's just to damned big for a body like the A7R. Hopefully Zeiss will put out an FE mount update of the 35/1.4 that's more compact in a year or so

Lovely shots and great looking lens ! Do you have full size shots ?
And yeah, speculation is a pain, particularly when blown up by bad will. Glad you are happy with yuor choice.
Another snap with the A7 and Sonnar 50/1.5, WO I think... got the adapter last night and took a few shots. seems like a promising combination with the A7 and love the size compared to my R Cron 50. Should be a good pair of 50's, very different characteristics...
Nice pictures, Darrell. I have both of these 50s but only tried the R cron so far. The C-Sonnar is next on the list and I have high hopes for it. Then the Minolta MC PG 50/1.4. May yet be tempted by the Planar as well. All these choices now. Brilliant, particularly for 50mm, my favourite focal length.

Juan,
Great shot of your most beautiful City! My family and I were in Malaga last September and just loved it. I was lugging around a Canon 5D2 with three lenses in the 100 degree pluse heat, which is one of the reasons I am now using the A7r. Keep posting more images!

Well, after ~3 weeks wait my 29 year old, brand new Helios 44M-4 58/2 arrived and I am blown away by the quality. This thing is so sharp for the $80 shipped price.
Honestly I see no reason to even shoot at anything other than F/2 as it's so gorgeous and crisp at this length. I can not wait to take it out for Xmas bokeh shots Enjoy "the random crap in the back around back of my house" shots below.

This gave me time to pause, reflect and look at this image thread instead of the dozens of other, mostly speculative threads. I got my head out of my @#$ and decided to go with my original decision. A few samples below, all with contax 35/1.4 Moral of the story for me?… stick to the image threads
yeah, image threads are definitely the way to go to decide about a camera. threads about a new camera soon after release are mostly just good for entertainment value.
