Bob- Got to say I love the night shots with the buildings lit up. Unfortunately they are probably lit up because it is dark in the middle of the afternoon like it is here.
I have just done a small comparison between three 50mm lenses on the a7 - a Leica R 50mm/2 Summicron, Minolta MC PG 50/1,4 and Zeiss ZM C-Sonnar 50/1.5. These can be seen on the Flickr set linked below. The images were processed in LR5RC3 from raw for exposure, clarity and sharpness. (I have noticed that the a7 tends to under-expose consistently by half to one stop.) I should point out that these were hand held WO in each case so there is some focus variation because of the extremely narrow DOF. Also note that the MFDs of the Leica and Minolta lenses, at just under 0.5m each, are about half that of the C-Sonnar, which is about 0.9m. The order of (triple) shots is Leica, Minolta and Zeiss but each is captioned. My order of preference in this test is Leica, Zeiss, Minolta.
Well, the A7 was in stock, unfortunately both the LA-EA4 and the 35mm Zeiss were not delivered.
No worries though, since I have a Nex 5n, so I already have an adapter for my Nikon lenses.
And then I noticed, I have a Zenith Helios-44-2 58/22 lens, and a M42 to Nikon adapter. So I put the lens on the adapter, put the F-mount adapter on the F to E-mount adapter, set focus peaking color to red and started playing:
