Mark, Just about all accolades I can say about your composition have been stated above. Just a phenominal piece of work. You have that natural talent of a unseen tethered connection between mind, eye and camera. Would love to have that on a continous basis as you and others here...Well done and congrats!!
I look at the winners of contests in Outdoor Photo, Shutterbug, Digital and others and I must say, you beat them all.
Dan
Wow, thank you! Hard work and Perseverance pays!

Extraordinary light up there! It's been far too long since I saw Crater Lake and this, along with Marc Adamus' image from there are my favorites.
Well, to put my name next to Marc's is a massive compliment in my book. He has been the single largest influence to my work and career. Without his inspiration, I would be half the photographer I am today.

My dream would be to have the talent, skills and patience to be able to produce something as beautiful as this. Fabulous work.
It is great to have a dream! My dream for the last 13 years has been to be a full time professional landscape photographer and photography workshop/tour guide. I never tried to do it over night. Just kept plugging ahead, moving forward year after year, staying positive in the face of setbacks and countless obstacles. Now, for years I have been doing it full time (about 250 days a year leading tours) and absolutely LOVE my work and the great people I get to work with! It is a great honor and privilege. I'm at a rest stop on the side of the highway after driving down to the SW 4X in three months for both personal and private workshops with some of the greatest people I have ever met, funnest times I have ever had and stupendous light. So, I am seriously counting my blessings with gratitude. I sincerely hope your dreams are realized too.

Great seeing you at the end of the earth the other day.
Congrats on your success!

Thanks Robert! It was great seeing you too. It was great being down there! Client was off the charts happy, then I stuck around for an extra 4 days roaming around and had so much fun. BTW, I wish you genuine success to your endeavors! I'll stay in touch.
Mark.. you have such a marvelous and stunning shot of the light. However when I took a look at the image one more time.. I am kind of wary about why those pinkish sky and the strong rainbow don't have any reflection in the water except that tiny strip of the rainbow on the left side..!! Am I missing something here?

Thank you. It was not reflecting. Probably due to the winds on the water. I would not even begin to know how to put a rainbow into an image.
