From a few weeks ago out in Joshua Tree NP. I had a wonderful sunset with great color in the clouds, and then as the light faded and the clouds moved on when the stars came out I was left with this cool display. The moon is also just rising at this time and lighting up the rock. It was a wonderful way to spend a SoCal evening.
Fantastic Jim!
A perfect example of having an eye for fleeting opportunity and grabbing the composition. What unique & creative landscape photography is all about!
Super shot with the unique scene. I thought it was an arch under sky shot when first saw its iconic view but surprised to realize that it's even better with the rock and tree combination composition when saw the actual image
The composition is absolutely perfect. The rock and tree balancing each other, and the foreground sweeping upwards to balance the downward sweep of the clouds in the sky. The colors and luminosity look very natural ... well done there. I do think I'm seeing a bit of a halo around the rock in particular ... especially along its left edge. Fix that, and this will be about perfect.
