Fantastic crow, but having crows here I'd called that a Raven
I'd have bet money that it was a raven also, I'd have been wrong.
I know for sure in the last photo, that those are ravens. They were trying to steal the wiper blades off of our car
to use for nesting material. (and of course they were much bigger than crows)

Some of my favorite shots, when I had the A7rIII + 100-400GM combo. I could never have done as good a shot (according to my own standards) of the lesser scaup without the silent shutter.

Checking at allaboutbirds.com, it looks like shac has it right.
Hi - Yes it's a Northwestern Crow for sure. We have lots of ravens near here but they are pretty well restricted to the mountains on the north side of Vancouver. The NW crow is a smaller crow than the typical N. Am. crows - it's restricted to the coastal region.
Cheers
David
I have a neat Raven photo I took while in Alberta. Unfortunately, it is with the 24-70 lens!
Maybe we should have a birds and wildlife thread?? Then, when the A7000 comes out, we don't have to go to multiple threads to see what our fellow wildlife photogs are doing (A9 Thread, FF Thread, 100-400 thread, RX10 thread, APS-C thread and A7000 thread)!
Hmm, I'll start it with a couple images and see if it lasts more than a day!
Kim
Edited to say it was taken in Alberta, close to the border of BC

They still have one 100-400 left used.
Too late for me - I grabbed a new one at the local pro shop yesterday trading in some unused gear for it.
I'll do some test shots in a couple of hours. 1.4xTC arrives today from Amazon.
