Wow, is that regular collaboration or very unusual?. Would never expect that.
From what I understand, yes, they hunt together often.
I can't find the article now, but when we first saw this years ago, a guy in our group googled it and went something like this.
Since the dawn of man, badgers and coyotes have been hunting together.
Both of them become more successful when hunting together.
The claim is that the coyote is 33% more successful hunting with a badger than without one.
It is common to see one badger and one coyote, but, there were reports of up to 3 coyotes hunting with a badger.
Two of the times that I've witnessed this, there were two coyotes with the badger.
This very first time, three of us were in the Badlands driving along the road.
We saw two coyotes siting in a prairie dog town by a hole.
The dirt being kicked out of the hole was going about 10 feet high in the air.
We got out of the car, grabbed our cameras, and got a little closer.
One of the coyotes ran off, the other just stood there watching the flying dirt.
The second coyote took off, dirt still flying out of the hole.
We thought for sure it was another coyote digging, but no, a badger, after about 3 minutes, pups it's head out.

It's super nitpicky but changing the thread title to match the other image threads would really help my OCD now that we've moved on from the poll portion of it
