Finally thinking seriously about buying this lens...may I interject a question to you who have and use it? Which teleconverter is best (both from a quality standpoint and from the standpoint of practical use/application)? 1.4X or 2X?

Thanks Been learning to shoot with the 100-400 as I always been shooting with UWA lenses forever. It's been a real pleasure. I did experiment shooting with a polarizer to help with the haze but I am not sure it's worth it putting glass in front of glass though I did not see a decease in image quality really using a pro master polarizer that I returned (only bought it for the trip as I forgot my B+W one at home).

Preparing for the partial eclipse on the 10th, picked up the hoya solar filter so of course had to test it out. Cool to see a sunspot (and verify that it is indeed a sunspot ;-) ).

Excellent images, all of them. Can you comment on your processing? I shoot with a Sony100-400 GM as well and the A7r4 camera. while I think my images are sharp and crisp, these here are, to my eyes, frankly in a all together different league than my images.
