If you see images taken with a tele like this one, most have sky or some other non-sharpness-hungry thing in the corners. Take a look at images in this thread for example. That is the nature of a tele lens. Often, you don't need sharp like tack corners, like in my case, mountain peaks having sky in the corners.
By that logic, and considering I want to own a tele (why tele, every lens) that I can carry everywhere, I am thinking of selling this great lens to buy a 70-300 G. That I am not a birder makes it easier for me. On my crop body, 70-300 will still give me 450mm.

Min. focal distance, the full frame reduced to 1600 pixels on the long side, at 400mm wide open handheld, 1/100.
I'm reluctant to upload the shot at full size, even though part of the bill is missing.
It's pretty sharp thought out the frame.

Thanks everyone for the shots. Very inspiring. GAS is demanding that I need to get the 1.4 converter. GAS is assuring me that once I do all my pigeon shots will transform into eagles with fish in talons and water drops dripping shots.
