First real occasion to use the lens at 14mm. You know when you feel like nothing will be wide enough to share your view of a landscape. Well at 14mm it does just that!
Really nice images folks, I think this is going to be my next lens. Need a wide zoom but don't really need f2.8. Images look real nice from this lens!!
I decided to pair this lens with the Nikon 24-120 f/4 S on the Z8. I don't shoot ultrawide that often, so I like the idea of a small and lightweight lens covering this range.

I struggled with the F 2.8/4 issue -
I usually prefer fast lens but really went practical with the images I wanted from this lens. I have zero need for f 2.8 at these apertures and the size, the ability to use a polarizer filter/ND, and the cost made me go against every fiber in my body to buy the "better" lens.
Its turned out to be one of my favorite Nikon lens. Useful zoom range and phenomenal IQ. Zero regrets and everytime I slap on a polarizer or LEE ND srew on, I smile a little.

I elected to get the 14-30 mainly because I find the range extension to 30mm very useful for how I use the lens. More reasonable filter size was the second consideration. When I want fast I am limited to the 20mm f2.8, but what a lens that is as well.

Thanks so much for that feedback, I am thinking like you I have no need for f2.8 on this lens. II have f2.8 lenses but I rarely will use the 14-30 so the price and weight make this look great to me! Thanks again, I'm in no rush so may wait until next sale and see if that is one of the items.
The weather and the season are showing their shabby faces here at the moment, light only in homeopathic doses, the whole day is just gloomy, cold, rainy and stormy at the same time, it's time for home entertainment again.
