Picked mine up today but it has been raining most of the day and with our semi lock down, not much chance to try this lens yet but here are a few snapshots. Shot with Z7 ii.
I like it. Doesn't have the bite like other primes I've seen, but pretty sure it can be added in post. Snapshots look good, nice colors too. I like how it gets reasonably close as per the 1st shot.
That camera would sit very nicely with my FE. It’s the lens that interests me even more…it and the standard version (when available) will be a wonderful street lens on the Zs and my Z7ii in particular!

Minimum focusing distance is 0.19m, reproduction ratio 0.2x so it is quite handy, I think.

These look great. Thanks for posting them. Did you get a Z fc, too?
Yes, I picked it up with Z Fc but have not shoot much with the camera yet. A bit too small for my hand
so I am waiting for the grip. No support for RAW file from any software that I know yet, not even NX-D or NX Studio

Is there a ship date for the 28mm lens yet (outside the kit)?
I haven't seen anything yet about the 28mm being delivered from regular ordered, with or without the kit in the US yet. Thailand seems to get stuff ahead of us, which makes sense. Hoping that my place in line for preorder isn't too far delayed.

I think that it will be quite awhile before 28mm will become available as an individual lens. Z Fc with 28mm kit proves to be very popular and is in severe shortage. May be someone could confirm this for me but Nikon China delayed launch date for Z Fc because Nikon could not provide adequate units to meet initial demand.
Shipping time is rather strange. Initially launch date over here was end of this month then pushed back to August 9th and my local dealer just informed me last week that now launch date was changed to July 28th but Nikon Thailand only received a small fraction of its order supposedly.
Sometimes we get things quite early but somtimes not. I recalled Lance got his 105/2.8 MC almost 2 weeks in Australia before we got them in Thailand. Through some deal for tax break with Thai government, everything that is made here has to be shipped to Japan first. Whatever Nikon Thailand sells here, we get them through Nikon Singapore's distribution.

A few more snapshots with Z Fc. No raw file converter for Z Fc yet so this is all from jpg and adjusted and resized in PS. Pictures are not great but hopefully they can show a bit of the lens characteristic.

Sorry about lots of f3.2, I thought I was on f2.8 most of the time
Looks like a well behaved lens. I want it right now but guess that's not happening for awhile. It should pair nicely with the 100 MC to make a nice travel kit with my Z6. The "kit" 24-70/4 is awesome although heavier than I like for walking around.
Nice shots, I would love to see more from a zfc. Wait time for the combo is long. You will probably be the only opportunity to view the output from the Zfc and 28mm f2.8 Z, for a while. Mike
Thank you for posting the sample images. I agree that the lens looks very well behaved, plenty sharp with nice oof transitions. I have one on pre-order and while I'm bummed about the wait, it appears it will be worth it.
Have you tried any scenes that are backlit and/or contain lots of foliage. Definitely curious to see how it handles LoCA and flare/ghosting from more scences especially with the sun inside or just outside of the frame.
The ZFc sure is a smart looking camera. Hoping Nikon gets the parts sourcing worked out so they get wide availability over the coming months. I'm thinking a used body in late 2022 might make a great first camera for my older children to start carrying/learning with the size/weight combo.
