I've got the 180-600 on the way to go on my Z8 and am wondering what's the smallest ball head that will work with a Sidekick gimbal. I have a Sirui K20x and am concerned that may be too small.

Hey Robert. I may be wrong but I think that discussion is just sort of sprinkled through this thread a ways back. Might be hard to pinpoint. For what it's worth, I replaced mine with the Kirk collar. It's better but I don't love it. Still doesn't give you that nice, smooth rotation. I still feel like you need to loosen it to the point where it's too loose in order to rotate if that makes any sense. As I said, better than the original but not sure it's worth the money. The only reason I kept it is because now I have the Arca foot instead of a plate which I don't like.

Just got mine at a little over 1800 and I still think it’s a steal, although I have not yet tested it on the water with loons in full golden light. That's in the morning !
