I have a question for the guys who pre-ordered an X100VI from B&H, I pre-ordered one on 02/20/24 but mine has shown as back ordered. Does B&H have a system to let you know when they ship it to you?
Mind sharing your order number and when on 2/20 you ordered?
Just received this email from B&H today. I placed an order slightly after 2am on Feb 20.
'While we expect to receive additional inventory in March, based on Fujifilm’s projections, we will not have sufficient inventory to fill your order in March. We will update you as soon as we receive additional information from Fujifilm, which we hope to have within the next two weeks. Please note that both the Silver and Black versions of the X100VI are similarly affected."
For what it's worth, earlier in this thread I mentioned I ordered a silver at 1003 PST and got a confirm from BH at 1004. Realized I wanted the black and ordered the black, confirm at 1008. The silver shipped in the first batch. I almost cancelled the black but haven't yet. That order is 1651 orders later and is 166xx. I got the same email except it says the order will ship before the end of March.
Part of the reason I realized in my irrational ordering frenzy that I should have ordered black is to not have to purchase new accessories as I have everything from my x100v. A couple of differences: Lensmate (I have the folding thumbrest) says on their site that they will design a new thumbrest for the vi once they get the camera implying that the hotshoe fit might be a tiny bit different. I'm not sure this makes sense? Other manufacturers seem to be selling the same thumbrest for the v and vi.
Also, the placement for the tripod screw is a fair bit farther forward on the bottom of the camera. Not a big deal but I can't imagine any tripod plate not extending beyond the front edge unless RRS makes a custom fit one there. My PD microclutch base extends a fair bit beyond the front of the bottom of the camera now.

Something seems off here. How can the X100VI have significantly higher dynamic range than the X-T5 when they both have similar sensors?

Well, the X100VI has a unique sensor among the Gen 5s in that it has a different base ISO.
The bigger question I have is how are the X-T5 and X-H2 different at ALL? They ostensibly have the exact same sensor.
I believe both the X100VI and X-T5 cameras have sensors with the same base ISO. Essentially, they use the same sensor, suggesting that Fuji is doing something with the raw files to achieve that increase in dynamic range in the test.

Ah! I wasn't aware that they tweaked the low end on the X-T5 as well.
I have no X-T5 experience, but can report that the apparent range between the V and VI seems largely identical in real world applications, with the VI having seemingly more microcontrast in the files.

I'm concerned that this might spark debates about the dynamic range superiority of the X100 VI 40MP sensor, even though it doesn't appear to be technically accurate.
