Stunning, stunning stuff Douglas. Love your commitment to planning, getting to and attending the number of shows that you do. Yes, I can see that 1/125th is definitely the go for the props,
I saw the Raptor at the Australian International Air Show at Avalon on a few occasions. Always the highlight.
To see other fast jets not seen here in Oz I had to travel to RIAT (Gripen, Rafale, Typhoon, Phantom etc) and LIMA (various Russian and Chinese jets). I would post those here, but they were with the 200-600.
My goal now is a pilgrimage, with family in tow, to Oshkosh in maybe 2027.

Normally I attend 8-10 airshows a year, mostly in my own state of Maryland and the neighboring states within 300 miles radius. I just do day trips. I hope to do RIAT some day. The great thing about shows in Europe is they have some jets we don't get to see here in the States. When I went to Denmark for the A2A last year, by pure accident, I heard about the NATO Tiger Meet in Northern Germany, only an hour drive from where I was staying. Oh boy, wasn't that sweet! I got to see multiple Tornados, Eurofighters, Gripens, Rafales, F-16s, F-18s, with missiles, in fancy paint schemes, from different countries. It wasn't an airshow, it was an exercise. I only had the 100-400 GM with me but that was close enough as I was near the runway.
I wasn't fond of shooting prop. planes because it's so difficult to get sharp pictures at slow shutter speed. I have gradually warmed up to shooting warbirds, still not a fan of modern acrobatic props. They are fun to watch for sure.

No! But did sell the 200-600
Appreciating this lens a lot, if only it were lighter
Pictures are recent, taken in the often dull light of the Irish Republic

Just back from Bosque del Apache south of Socorro New Mexico. I look forward to the annual trip, this year was no exception.
For those of you headed that direction, the birds are making their way to the refuge, there were about 5000 snow geese and a couple thousand sandhill cranes. The water situation is "meh" at best. With the government shutdown, they are about 6 weeks behind on projects around the refuge. The plan on releasing more water to different areas. The pond when you are headed to the refuge from San Antonio is full but had no birds on it while I was there. The flight deck has water but it's low. There are a couple of other areas with limited water as well.
I think it's been warm up north as the volume of wildlife was pretty low, it was warm while I was there as well.
Wednesday the storms were starting to roll in, I was able to capture some evening shots. Thursday was rain... all day. Friday things cleared up and I was able to shoot all day. Thursday morning had heavy fog which made for some fun shots, Friday as well.
Here are a few I've worked on.
A fun trip all in all...I'll post some more shots from the trip soon.
Enjoy the day all.

First day with hoodies this season. Normally I use the 600 GM+1.4X TC for them but wanted to try the 400-800 for fun. I am usually not a fan of anything over ISO 4000 + huge cropping but that's something I have to deal with sometimes.

Fantastic captures! Fully agree... dealing with the higher ISO outputs stinks, I'm still adjusting to it.

Really... awesome shots.
Hatch
Thank you very much Hatch! These hoodies weren't really that far away but they are small ducks. For some of the shots I still cropped away 70-80% of the frame. High ISO+heavy cropping is no fun even with the current denoise programs. I am going to Conowingo to shoot bald eagles tomorrow morning, I will try the 600 GM+2X TC for that for the first time to see how it goes. I only used the 1.4 TC on the 600 GM before. Most of the recent eagle actions at Conowingo were on the other side of the wide river. I hope I can find the target in the view finder at 1200mm.
