Reading the obit, just makes me really sad for Guy and all his family. He was way too young and he had barely started to enjoy his [semi] retirement. It’s a shocking reminder for me how precious every moment of every day really is, I can take nothing for granted. I want to make sure I don’t hold back telling my loved ones how much they mean to me and how much I love them, and telling them often.

My prayers to all his loved ones. I look for certain members posts/replies with special interest and Guy is the first in that list for me. He will be missed. I have his Tenba messenger 13 slim bag and also he is the original owner of my Batis 135.

Not all that long ago I like many others here learned of the state of his health and the difficulties he faced in recovery. I posted about some of the wonderful interactions I had with Guy over the years. Since then I often wondered how he and his family were doing, knowing the difficult ordeal they faced based on their postings. While searching for info, I just came across this thread and my heart aches for his loss but none more so then for his family which he both shared stories with me in past conversations and his posts.
He was generous not only with imparting knowledge and suggestions in all things photography related, but miscellaneous common interests. His dry wit and opinions were uniquely his and they left an indelible mark on me, all of which I will never forget.
Rest in Peace Guy and to his family, I know the loss of their treasured family member will always reside in their hearts.

A big loss to the community. One of the great things about photography is that our images will outlast us and can be shared forever. Knowledge also has an exponential effect, so a lot of fellow photographers will have been positively effected by Guy's knowledge and expertise for years to come.

I wish I'd had the chance to know Guy in the real world as well.
Knowing how much he gave to this community, just a bunch of people that also liked photography, I can only imagine what he gave to his family and friends. Guy was real and gave it to you straight and unadulterated, but full of love. Those kind of people are one-in-a-million.
