I don't know, but rumor websites have been all over the place this past year, Canon was going to announce a 300-600mm L lens, Sony was going to announce a 100-400mm f4GM lens. The Canon R7II has been rumored like forever, but keeps being pushed into the future, the Nikon Z9II should well and truly have been here going by the rumors.
Has something changed? The big rumor sites used to at least have an inkling.
And how many years has the retro Canon been waiting for us now? 😄
But I definitely think the RVI will arrive soon, since the RV's price has dropped significantly recently. At least here in Germany.
Looks like opinions are coalescing around a partially stacked 67Mpix sensor with faster readout time, improved autofocus, superior IBIS and possibly improved dynamic range. Other rumors suggest a newly designed body being announced mid-May.
May is next week. I'm very doubtful it will be that soon. I'm more apprehensive that they will ruin the camera for still users with some videocentric horror of ergonomics.

It will likely adopt the newer a9III/a1II body, which is IMO the best Sony body to date.

I signed up for May 14-15 “ Sony Alpha for a one-of-a-kind two-day community creative experience in the heart of New York City!” So expect the camera to be announced no later than the 14th.
i don’t have an interest in the new camera or lens but I do want to see the space the event is in and have some camera equipment cleaned as well which they always offer at these events. Does anyone else intend to go? This is a good location just across the street from the park if you want to borrow equipment and go shoot.
I've been keeping an eye on the rumors as I want to get a new body in '26.
FWIW there are alleged photos of the new 100-400 and it is f/4.5 which may or may not be relevant for you. Thought to be a ~ballpark~ price as the 50-150 f/2.
SAR says in his latest post that he will post more details later today about the A7RVI.
But he does say in the post that the specs he has to share are "beating the ass" out of the A1II.
I find it hard to believe they will have a $4500 camera "beat the ass" of their $7000 flagship when we are 2+ years away from an A1III.

Who knows, Sony might give the AII a firmware update to unlock all it's previously locked features
"The Sony A7rVI uses a 67MP fully stacked sensor
New body design
Very similar Sony A1II specs when it comes to speed and video performance
All the goodies we have seen on the new Sony A7V (AI functions, IBIS, autofocus and so forth)
Us price around $5000 and European closer to €5,500"
