It’s actually the Voigtlander 40/2 Ultron II, these are the first rolls we put through the body so I’m praying no light leaks…paid a small fortune and bought the body from Japan. Went with the CV since the price is right and it supports metering.
All told, I think I enjoyed shooting the F more than the Z on this trip We dinked around inside the north side of RMNP near Estes as well as hiking to Gem Lake around Lumpy Ridge. Never seen the aspens yellow in person, it was certainly a sight!

is that an AF Nikkor or older MF lens I see on that FM3a? Looks like a pretty solid hiking lens to me either way!
What area of the Rockies did ya'll go to. The aspens are beautiful.
FM3a's sure have become a small fortune. I almost bought one back when they were still $250-300 but that ship sailed and I am happy with my FE2 and F3 (although it'd be fun to try an F2 also). The fun:size ratio of a compact film SLR and small prime is extremely high in my book.
The CV 40 is a cracking lens for the FM/FE body series but you should beware that an FM3a is never complete until you also have a Nikkor 105/2.5 (any variant, I'm partial to the AI/AI-S versions). That's of course only the beginning of finding out how deep the rabbit hole really goes in MFNG land .
I've been to CO a few times before but never North of Denver or in the fall around peak aspen color. RMNP looks like a worthwhile place to add to the list of good areas to visit although I can't say there are actually many/any bad areas to visit in CO.

Just realized how great this lens is, especially for those looking for a better alternative to the kit lens 24-70 F4. Just as sharp or sharper with more reach.
Not sure I'll ever get over how stupid sharp my copy of the 24-120 is. It's one of the best lenses to reach for for flowers IMO, it's a perfect balance of bokeh at f4 and compression at 120mm.
Two takes on the same pic, 1:1 is to show the fine detail at near 100% crop.
I'm surprised how well this lens does for these types of shots. I never think of this type of lens for these subjects, but the results and rendering are very pleasing.

Indeed, it's a slept-on feature of this lens for sure.
