Went for a walk along nearby coastal marsh this weekend. I got some decent photos & the only downside was 'photographers' trampling back and forth through the habitat instead of just entering the edge of the marsh and staying put. Behaviour like this flushes out the birds + scares the prey away. Anything to get a shot I guess.

A set of images all from this morning at the park and a couple from the back yard. First real day using firmware 2.0 on the Z8 and so far real nice it is the same as my Z9 again!

Testing Z8 gen2 today. Fully overcast + light drizzle = relatively high iso. Usual suspects as I don't live in Australia where everything is just more colourful.
The camera did quite all right picking up birds in denser branches.

Some from yesterday morning.
Sometimes I wonder (if I saved up ) - would 600TC offer that much better IQ and would F4 be really worth the $ and the weight. I handhold 99% of the time.

I will have the 800 PF in my hand today so no images to post yet. I have a question for you good folks, has any of you used a 2 or 3 stop ND filter in the 800 PF's filter slot?
I am wondering if something like this would work in the filter slot?
I know Kase sells a $500 drop-in filter kit that includes a variable ND filter but I am not interested in a variable ND filter and certainly not for $500.
The reason I want to use a 2 or 3 stop ND filter in the 800 PF is to slow the shutter speed to 1/100 -1/150 in bright day light without using f16-f22, it's for shooting propeller planes.
