Very nice. As a matter of interest, what state are American Bittern's in as a species in your part of the world? I attended a talk yesterday and was shocked to learn that the Australasian Bittern is now on the critically endangered list here in NZ, less than 1,000 left. Usual suspects; habitat loss, introduced predators, run over on road etc. The species is endemic to Australia, NZ and New Caledonia.
I'm in Canada. Doesn't seem to be very common here but the range overall is pretty spread out through North America.
"American Bitterns breed in vegetated wetlands from Pacific to Atlantic coasts, from the Boreal Forest in the north to the southern Great Plains in the south. They migrate moderate distances to winter in coastal areas from southwestern British Columbia in the west and the Southern Coastal Plain of the Atlantic states in the east, south through Mexico to Central America"

Today my 6.3/800 arrived. First impression is exceptionally good.
One ergonomic dislike is the positioning of the MF ring which I like better with my 100-400 and 6.3/600. It is too far behind relative to the tripod collar.

Yup, the 800pf has pretty good image quality. Here's a short 4k60p video of the 800pf+1.4xTC shot in DX mode (1680mm equivalent). As long as the atmospheric conditions are good you can get excellent results.
