Good effort for one of your first ones, Mike. Unfortunately, none of it was in focus.
Thanks for the feedback. I agree that all the clips have focus going in and out so in that respect all of it was out of focus. Or did you see it as every frame was out of focus? In one case, I can edit to only use frames sharp enough.
I'll have to figure out how to improve on the camera auto focus settings. I did resort to manually focus at times while looking through the view finder which isn't a good way as there's shake. I may get a fluid head instead of the ballhead to smooth it out more.

Never mind, I think I know the answer. Some of it maybe the interpolation with Davinci panning processing on a low resolution video. The rest is lens out of focus.

Hi vbnut, is your question addressed to me? I can't see any linkage to any of my posts so I'm not sure who you're addressing? Sorry if I'm missing something.
Thanks,
Rudy
I was replying to RobAmy's post of his setup, assuming that the relationship would be visible, but I guess it isn't. I should have quoted his post to make it clear. Sorry for the confusion.

Your videos always look great, so thanks for sharing your setup. Would you mind also sharing your in-camera video settings (recording format, compression method, image quality, AF settings, etc.)? Also, you mentioned in another post that you sometimes use crop mode, so could you describe when and why you use it?
I am sorry, somehow I missed this. Here are some of my settings I use.
Format is XF-HEVC S YCC22 10bit
Normally I am 4K-D 60FPS and sometimes 120FPS, I will use 4K fine also but if I go into crop mode it goes to the 4K-D automatically.
Normally I do not use C-log but just camera colors and tweak in post
I use Premiere Pro or iMovie
AF is usually whole area focus or single point, mainly whole area
I use crop mode almost all the time for video, there is no downside with the R1, stays in 4K vs the R5 II which drops to 2K. I like crop mode with video because it is like having a built in extender. I can shoot backed off and then go tight without changing anything. I have movie cropping in my menu area to change it quick.

Wonderful footage with great tracking!

Thank you Rudy! DaVinci Resolve stabilization helps cancel some of my jerkiness but since it zooms in to get enough real estate to shift the image around it winds up clipping the nose off the board and the surfer's hand. I guess the best approach is to start with better and smoother footage?!?

No idea why it is not showing up but the link works
A small clip of Kenzie the Nederlandse Kooikerhondje having a great time swimming. I used the Canon R1 with the RF 70-200mm Z plus the 1.4x. This was handheld in 120 FPS.

Thanks, I just checked and it was already allowing embedding. I posted it on other sights without issue, seems just to be here for whatever reason. I tried reposting a few times with no luck. Only seems to be this video, others are fine.

Sorry, this is a repost of a video from last week. I mistakenly deleted the video from my Youtube account so I uploaded it again.
Please don't feel the need to watch it again or comment.
Thanks,
Rudy

I spent a little time with this beauty this morning. They are amazing little birds. This male was defending his territory. I used the R1 with the 100-300mm + 2x. This was 4k at 60fps
