Hi guys,
I've been out of the picture for a few weeks so I might have missed some info on this.
Does anyone know why none of the posted videos on this forum are displaying properly like they used to? Instead I am getting a dark grey box showing:
Watch video on YouTube
Error 153
Video player configuration error.
Thanks,
Rudy
Rudy,
I don't know. Baffling to me.
My latest video post showed fine the first day or so, then went to the Error 153 you wrote about.

Yes Dave, I too am baffled by this. Let me know if you find out anything.

I didn't look at all 34 pages of this thread, but I did check the first page and the last 5 pages, and every post I saw with a YouTube video had this issue. I suggest reporting it to Fred. He may have changed something recently that is causing it.

looks like it is maybe resolved, the few pages I checked all looked like videos are fine.

Peregrine Falcon stretching, showing talons and getting ready for its next hunt.
Video taken near the Mississippi River at Hannibal, MO on Dec 11, 2025.
There have been Peregrine Falcons at Hannibal since 2018 that I have seen.

The video I posted yesterday did not show, but clicking Watch on YouTube, takes you to it on YouTube. To those whose video is showing properly now, how did you link it from YouTube?
Thanks,
Dave

I just copy the link in the search bar. Seems to be working okay.

Thanks Rob.
That is what I had done in past and it worked. I tried editing my above post again and it still is not working. It does work on a different site I use( Steve Perry's backcountry forums)
Dave
PS: I just checked my YouTube and the box that says "allow embedding" was not checked. I check that and now it shows up.

Two different Peregrine Falcons in trees overlooking the Mississippi River at Hannibal, MO on Dec 16, 2025.
First one was there a while, and then I heard another calling. It left, and within 3-4 minutes the other landed close to where the first falcon was.
I "think" the first is a female, and the 2nd a male.

This video is actually a copy of the final section of my previous video posted a few days ago about Snowy Owls and Snow Buntings. However, it contains only the Snowy Owl flight footage plus a new music track and nothing else. I did this because my YouTube viewer data shows that about half the viewers stopped watching my initial video before they even reached the Snowy Owl flight section and therefore never got to enjoy these awesome Owls flying. My bad - regrettably my first video was not compelling enough to hold the viewers' interest long enough. I need to work on that.
Cheers,
Rudy
