Here is a video comparing the Canon R1 vs the Canon C50 @ 120fps. I wanted to see how the AF was and the colors between them. I am very pleased with AF of the C50 which I feel does very well against the R1. All footage was shot in Clog 2 with same LUT and editing applied.
I used the C50 with the 100-300 and the R1 with the 24-105 f2.8. Both using VND filters (different brands).
Both videos look very good Rob! Looks like you could use both cameras on a scene and combine in a finished video without issues.

Over two dozen Bald Eagles gathered on a frozen cove near the Mississippi River near Quincy mid- February, 2026. Most of the river and backwaters had thawed with the warm weather, with just a few coves still having some ice covering. When I first arrived there were about 40, and this was taken after a few left and there was enough light to film shortly after sunrise. Canon R5 MKII RF 200-800 4K

I was down at the Ottawa River this week practicing my handheld tracking technique on these good-looking Ducks while shooting in C-log3 with an ND filter. It was a lot of fun trying to follow these little speedsters.
All the clips were shot at 4K120 resulting in speeds of 1/4 real time. The really slow-looking clips were slowed down an additinal 50% in Davinci Resolve making them similar to 240 frames per second and 1/8 real time.
Camera: Canon R5
Lens: Canon RF 100-500 L
Video Format: 4K120
Video Profile: Canon C-Log3
Editing: Davinci Resolve 20

Looks great Rudy!
Your handheld tracking seemed very good. Colors were vivid and nice. Sound was great as usual.

Hi Dave, what a lovely bit footage of a lovely bird - one of my favorite waterbirds, and the ambient recording is just perfect and makes me feel like I'm right there.
Very nicely done!

Thank You Rudy!
I'm hoping for more opportunities of this neat looking little duck.
I took this hand held setting in vehicle, and did not expect it to be usable.

Lots of Bald Eagles gathering on an icy bay. Breaking through the ice, looking for food, squabbling at times, just doing what hungry eagles do. Middle of February, 2026 near the Mississippi River North of Quincy. Canon R5 MKII RF 200-800 4K

Thin Ice and Eagles. Mid-February several Bald Eagles were gathered in this cove off the Mississippi River near Quincy.
A couple young ones found out how thin it was.
