The day after the sunrise moai at Ahu Tongariki, we went for a night shoot. As usual in this climate, the weather was a lottery and we largely lost. At the end of the session as we were about to pack up someone parked a car at the lot precisely in such a way that it illuminated the moai in an interesting way. Fortunately it was an old car with halogens - you'd be hard pressed to find a car with LEDs on that island
In the first photo you see a yellow line in front of the moai - that's me running with two lamps to illuminate the moai. I managed to do that twice in complete darkness without tripping, and the ground is quite uneven. That was about me and athletics, though.
I don't usually try to photograph swallows but I found a spot where they would hover for a little: Violet-green Swallow 4253 by Stephen Shoff, on Flickr
