First shots with the z8, 24-120 | Today's bore tide, Turnagain Arm, Alaska | first at 120mm, second at 80mm, f/10 1/200s, iso 100 (a red circle clock blinked aggressively the entire time, turns out I did not set the date/time)

I have many great memories of visiting and photographing this area. You are fortunate to have some much beauty near Anchorage.
My last time at that spot, I was using an X-Pan... a perfect camera for capturing the expansiveness.
Enjoy the 24-120... It's an amazingly versatile lens.

Thanks, Bruce, I surf the bore tide here when it warms up so it's great you've also enjoyed the epic beauty up at Turnagain Arm! I also had the 100sii 500 1.4x and posted a "gfx-pan" to the fuji forum catching bald eagles and seagulls gathered chasing the incoming fish tide. I wish the light were better and it wasn't drizzling, or the tide were closer since wave patterns changed, but for my literal first shots I enjoyed the z8 and zoom range. Your actual X-Pan shots must be epic, if you ever share theme here on the film forum. The z8 24-120 will be a fun, versatile cycling setup attached to my hip riding the moose loop!

I've seen your wildlife work with the Fuji GFX 100... I've taken a different strategy these days...
My Nikon's are primarily wildlife cameras, as their speed and AF accuracy fits my needs. I have the 24-120 for when I'm looking for quicker and convenient landscapes or close-up photography.
In contrast, I've acquired a a pair of Hasselblad X1D 50C (v1 and v2) that I use for landscape. They have an X-Pan crop that I can apply for compositions... It reminds me of the gear I used back in the late 90's... (The original XPan and 500C classic).
