Prior to this image I had never even seen the word “fumarole”. Apparently when undersea, these are the vents that support “chemosynthesis”.

Does this lens hold zoom in position when it's turned down, considering there is no lock on it?
I used to owe it, but I forgot about it, actualy, it wasn't important to me back then. I like to clip the camera to the shoulder strap now, when I'm hiking, and it becomes more relevant.
I replaced it with 24-200mm, but I want to switch back to 24-120.

Mine has never had lens creep. I wear it on my backpack all the time as you describe.

Even the 100-400 has no creep when inverted. Sony could never...I've had their version creep WITH THE LOCK ENGAGED

The 24-120mm is easily my favorite mid-range zoom on any system.
