The Z 24-120/4 S definitely proved its worth for the event, even though it's unusual for me to be limited to f/4 in these focal length ranges, when primes with f/1.2, f/1.4, or f/1.8 are usually available.
In these lighting conditions, it feels more like my Z 400/4.5 VR S when stalking wildlife in twilight.
But I'm pleasantly surprised at how well the Z8 handles even up to ISO 12800.

I picked up a Z 24-120mm f/4 S this weekend while still on sale at B&H and before the tariffs jacked the prices. I did some test photos today and I am impressed. The bokeh is not half bad and edge to edge sharpness puts a smile on my face.
I have been using my Z8 as a car carry (in a Retrospective 10) camera usually with a 50mm f/1.8 or the 35mm f/1.8 and I think the 24-120 will change how I car carry.
