I just did a top plate comparison of this photo with my A1 II and A7R5. Compared to the A7R5, it doesn't appear to have the proposed "redesigned body", although other bits could be changed. I was a bit disappointed that it doesn't have the ergonomic shutter button that the A1 II has, that I like so much.
This leads me to wonder what other SAR proposed specifications are valid. I guess we will know 9:30 EDST on Wednesday.

Also, illuminated buttons would be great!
Haha....the "ergonomic shutter button on the A1 II" just lets me take a 30 frame burst each time I turn it off.... 😝
My D4 and D500 have illuminated buttons: they're merely okay. The feature that I really wanted from Sony Alpha MILC is an (illuminated) top-deck LCD. I know, never happening.

Another from Alex’s FB page. He says the grip is a little bigger than A7RV, to accommodate the new bigger battery.
Wish they got rid of the Auto setting rather than the third custom mode. Makes sense on the A7V but on their higher tier cameras I always felt like it isn't necessary.
I don’t think a new battery was necessary especially one that’s not backwards compatible. I’ve rarely needed more than one current battery for even a full day of shooting. And the bigger grip, I don’t think that was needed either. If they were going to redesign the body with new battery, I would’ve preferred a more radical design change with more rounded aesthetics. It will certainly be an interesting release on Wednesday!
